Beginner-friendly. Walking counts. No running experience needed.
Class to 5K is a school running challenge that helps children build confidence, fitness and pride. The accompanying parent plan helps you join the journey at home, get fitter yourself and share the finish-line moment together.
It is about showing your child what it looks like to try.

To keep going.
To build confidence.
To do something positive together.

Â
Your child will be taking part in Class to 5K sessions at school. The parent plan gives you a simple way to support that journey at home, while also building your own fitness and confidence along the way.

You do not need to be “a runner”.
You do not need to be fit already.
You just need to start.
The Class to 5K Parent Plan is delivered through TrainingPeaks, one of the world’s leading training platforms.

Each week, you receive simple, beginner-friendly sessions that align with the school programme.

The plan includes:
TrainingPeaks works on smartphones and can also connect with many smartwatches. (TrainingPeaks purchases are made in USD.)
A session just for you.

This helps you build your own confidence, fitness and routine.
A short, guided session to complete with your child.

This supports what they are doing in school and helps them practise in a relaxed way.
A second family session to build consistency and confidence before the next school session.

You can walk. You can run-walk. You can slow it down. The goal is to keep moving together.
This plan is built for real people, not elite athletes.

If you have not run for years, that is fine.

If you are nervous about starting, that is fine.

If you need to walk more than you run, that is also fine.
Class to 5K uses simple run-walk progressions so you can build up gradually without feeling overwhelmed.

The aim is not to be fast.

The aim is to finish proud.
When children see adults being active, trying hard and sticking with something, it sends a message.

Not a lecture.
Not a nag.
A real example.

By joining the parent plan, you are showing your child that fitness is not just something they do in PE. It is something families can share.

You get time together.

You build confidence together.

And at the end, you can stand at the finish line knowing you did it together.
Keep it simple
You do not need expensive kit or a gym membership.
You only need:

Comfortable trainers
Safe space to walk or run
A smartphone
A little time each week
A willingness to start

A smartwatch can be useful, but it is not essential.
It connects school, home and family.

Class to 5K is different because your child is not doing it alone.

They are building confidence at school.
You can support that confidence at home.

And together, you work towards a shared finish-line goal.
It is not just a parent fitness plan.
It is a family challenge.
Your child is already taking a step towards confidence, fitness and a proud finish.

This is your chance to take that step with them.
You will be taken to TrainingPeaks to view and purchase the parent plan.
