Beginner-friendly. Walking counts. No running experience needed.
Class to 5K was created to help children build confidence, fitness and a positive relationship with movement.
Not through pressure.
Not through racing.
Not by making every child feel they have to be “sporty”.
But through simple, fun, confidence-building sessions that help pupils move more, believe in themselves and work towards a proud finish-line moment.
The programme is designed for primary schools, with comprehensive teacher resources that make it easy to deliver one structured running session each week.
For families who want to get involved, the optional parent plan gives grown-ups a way to join the journey at home, get fitter themselves and support their child along the way.
Schools. Families. Finish lines.
That is what Class to 5K is all about.
Too many children decide early that fitness is not for them.
They may feel too slow.
Too unfit.
Too embarrassed.
Too worried about being compared.
Class to 5K is designed to change that.
The programme uses run-walk intervals, games, teamwork and gradual progress to make running feel achievable. Walking counts. Run-walk counts. Shorter distances count.
The goal is not to create elite runners.
The goal is to help every child finish thinking:
Class to 5K has been designed to be practical.
Schools are busy. Teachers are stretched. PE time is limited. That is why the school resources are clear, ready-to-go and simple to use. The teacher pack includes structured session cards, set-up diagrams, safety notes, small-space options, log books, parent materials, posters, certificates and final event support. Most sessions need little more than cones, a timer and a safe space
.
Teachers do not need to be runners.
They just need a clear plan, a positive approach and a class ready to move.
Class to 5K is also about what happens beyond the school gate.
Parents who choose to join the optional parent plan can follow guided sessions through TrainingPeaks, including family sessions with their child and parent-only sessions to support their own progress.
For parents, it is a chance to get fitter.
For children, it is a chance to see the adults around them trying, moving and setting a positive example.
And for families, it is a chance to do something together that feels simple, healthy and meaningful.
Class to 5K was developed by Coach Jules from HybridFitLife.com.
Coach Jules creates practical fitness programmes designed to help everyday people build stronger, fitter, more capable bodies without needing to become elite athletes.
If children feel successful, they are more likely to keep going.
Run-walk is not a shortcut. It is a smart way to build fitness.
The programme celebrates consistency, teamwork & progress.
When children see adults getting involved, the message becomes stronger.
Whether they complete 2K, 3K or 5K, the final challenge should feel positive, inclusive and achievable.
